Sterile Air for the Food Industry SQF COMPLIANCE
Contact Tech-Quip to see how we can help get your compressed air SQF compiant. We can help with testing and filtration to remove microbials from coming in contact with your ready to eat product during packaging and production.
Compressed air monitoring:
A program that includes particles, water, oil, and microbiological and relevant gaseous testing in compressed air or other gases. Verification of the effectiveness
of compressor maintenance and filtration that a management facility has in place.
Implementation & Audit Guidance
What does it mean?
This applies to compressed air that comes into contact with exposed food products (e.g.,
pneumatic conveying), food contact surfaces, and interior surface packaging. It does not
apply to air that does not come into contact with food or food contact surfaces.
Purity means the absence of contaminants that could cause a food safety hazard. Pure air
means the air is free of risk for contamination of the products. Essentially, the air must not
contribute to any contamination of the product.
How can we help with SQF Compliance for compressed air monitoring?
Balston is a supplier of 3 stage sterile air filters for compressed air in the food industry that will meet the requirements for SQF compliance. We also offer a testing kit for monitoring compressed air for microbials. The CAMTU microbial test kit.
Balston's equipment also has an equipment acceptance certificate from the USDA for dairy equipment guidlines.
Safeguard your food processing operation from the contamination hazards of rust, pipe scale, water, oil, and
microorganisms. In 3-stage point-of-use filtration systems the first 2 stages are designed to remove
contaminants at a very high efficiency - up to 99.99% for 0.01 micron particles and droplets. Liquid releases
from the filter cartridges to automatic drains as rapidly as it enters the filter. This allows the filters to continue
removing liquids for an unlimited time without loss of efficiency or flow capacity.
The 3rd and final stage of filtration removes all viable organisms with an efficiency rating of 99.9999+% at 0.01
Filters are available in 1/4" to 1-1/2" port sizes1 in either 304 stainless steel or aluminum with a durable
powder coating designed to hold up to the dirtiest compressed air systems. The stainless steel filters are also
compatible with CIP steam cleaning processes.
