Thermocouples operate on the principle of the Seebeck effect, which states that when two dissimilar metals are joined at two junctions and the temperature is different at each junction, then a current will flow through the metals (known as EMF). SOR can provide a replacement for any failed thermocouple, RTD, or temperature assembly.
All RTDs are 100% tested to ensure that the functionality of the product has not been affected by the manufacturing process. The standard
SSi basic thermowell types are threaded, flanged, socket weld, weld-in, sanitary, and Van Stone. Thermowell stem designs (a portion of the well that extends into the process) are available in straight, stepped, or tapered styles. A wide selection of materials is available to meet virtually any application–including Brass, 304SS, 316SS, Alloy 600, Hastelloy B &C, Monel, HR160, Alumina, HR160, and many others.
SOR temperature sensor assemblies may include a connection head, optional HART transmitters, a sensor, and an optional thermowell or protection tube. Assemblies have been designed for high vibration, high temperature and general purpose applications. A temperature sensor assembly can provide temperature measurement, local indication, (temperature transmitter) programmable transmission, and process protection and isolation all in one package.
Connectors, accessories and mounting and assembly options are available for separate purchase from SOR. SOR offers a wide selection of plug, jacks and brackets with temperature ratings of up to 1200ºF (650ºC).

SSi sample probes are used in applications where a representative sample needs to be extracted from a process. Using a sample probe with a valve in a nozzle allows for simple and controlled extraction.
