Metrix Vibration Switches

Metrix Vibration Switches, will energize on high vibration saving equipment from damage due to high vibration.  We offer both Mechanical switches and Mechanical.

SW5484E Compact Configurable Vibration Switch

The SW5484E is a loop powered seismic velocity transmitter and configurable switch. The compact vibration switch incorporates a piezoelectric accelerometer, signal integrator, RMS or peak detector, 4-20 mA signal conditioner and a digital microcontroller into a single package. It is mounted directly on a machine case or bearing housing without disturbing the signal conditioning equipment.

SW5580 Smart Vibration Switch

The SW5580 is a new generation DIN rail mounted Smart Vibration Signal Conditioner and Switch from Metrix. It has been designed to accept signals from machine casing mounted velocity sensors, accelerometers or shaft observing proximity probe systems and produce a 4-20 mA output proportional to the measured variable. It provides the user with a configurable signal input type for two independent channels plus a configurable feature to scale output either to peak or RMS units. It comes with two relays per channel. The relays can be ordered as either solid state or mechanical dry contact options.

440 Economical Vibration Switch

The electronic switch utilizes a solid state crystal accelerometer which provides an electrical output when it is deformed by the vibration forces. The output is electronically converted to a signal proportional to velocity. This signal is compared with a preset limit and triggers a solid state relay if the limit is exceeded. There are no moving parts in the 440 vibration switches except when configured with mechanical relays.

SW6000 EP Vibration Switch w/ Internal Source

This electronic switch is a versatile excessive vibration protection instrument. In its standard configuration, the SW6000 is an economical single set point vibration switch loaded with standard features and packaged in an industrial grade housing.

Fully configured, the SW6000 provides for local machine control with optional LCD readout, real time remote operator interface via 4-20 mA and an external BNC (weather-proof only) for easy analyst access to the buffered dynamic vibration signal. Optional hazardous area certifications.

SM6100 EP Switch w/external source

This vibration monitor is a versatile excessive vibration protection instrument. In its standard configuration, the SM6100 is an economical single input vibration monitor loaded with standard features and packaged in an industrial grade housing. Fully configured, the SM6100 provides for machine control with optional LCD readout, real time remote operator interface via 4-20 mA and an external BNC (weather-proof only) for easy analyst access to the buffered dynamic vibration signal. Optional hazardous area certifications.

5477B Two-Wire Solid State Switch

This switch features two-wire hookup and solid state reliability. This makes it an ideal replacement for mechanical vibration switches when increased accuracy and repeatability are required.

Powered by an AC or DC control circuit, the unit closes or interrupts the circuit when the base vibration level exceeds the field adjustable setpoint. Separate start-up and monitor delays prevent nuisance trips. A flashing red LED illuminates upon a tripped condition and an optional LCD digital indicator provides a convenient display of vibration level.

The removeable electronics module plugs into the weathertight, explosion-proof aluminum housing. The wire entry is sealed against moisture. An NPT stud provides a rigid, single hole mount to machinery.

PRO 440, 450 & 6000 Vibration Switch Family

The PRO™ vibration switch family consists of the PRO440, the PRO450, and the PRO6000. These switches have nearly identical functionality and differ only by the enclosure mounting style and rating, allowing placement on or near the machine in the environmental conditions and hazardous area classifications typical of industrial plants.

Each switch in the PRO family is programmable via a USB port and PRO configuration software, or via the switch’s integral keypad/display. Advanced capabilities allow PRO switches to deliver self‐contained, single‐channel vibration protection with one or (optional) two fully adjustable alarm levels and corresponding electro‐mechanical relays. Alarm and startup delays are independently programmable, local reset capabilities are provided, and terminals are available for remotely invoking switch bypass and switch reset.

5550 / 5550G Mechanical Vibration Switches

The Metrix mechanical vibration switch is designed to meet all requirements in a single, affordable package.

It provides vibration protection for low to medium speed machinery. An inertia sensitive mechanism activates a snap-action switch with SPDT output contacts if the vibration exceeds an adjustable setpoint. The 5550 mechanical vibration switch contacts can be used to activate an alarm or initiate equipment shutdown.

The housing is weatherproof with an optional hazardous area rating. Electrical (remote) reset with start-up time delay and a second set of SPDT output contacts to accommodate DPDT needs (e.g. separate trip and trip light circuits) are available.

The 5550G uses identical internal mechanisms, but carries an IECEX rating ideal for IIC gas group applications.
