Welded Diaphragm Seals

Direct drive gauges have a much smaller internal volume making them ideal for use with a diaphragm seal.  Ideal for use on processes which are corrosive, viscous, unrefined or unfiltered.  Prevents media from clogging the Bourdon tube.

  • Available in threaded or flanged connection sizes
  • Many materials including: stainless, Hastelloy C, Monel, Tantalum, and PTFE
  • Different Fill fluids avaialble including: Silicone, Halocarbon, and more.

Perma-Cal Technical Advantages over Conventional Pressure Gauges

Principle of Operation  Perma-Cal pressure gauges operate on the unique principle of direct drive, which uses a single, helically wound bourdon tube made of Inconel X-750.  Inconel was chosen for its elasticity as well as its excellent resistance to corrosion.  All other wetted parts are stainless steel.

Only one moving part   Since there are no springs, gears, sectors or linkages (metal to metal contact), there are no components to wear out. Component wear accounts for more than half of all gauge failures.

Permanent Calibration  The complete absence of gears and linkages enables the Perma-Cal pressure gauge to be “permanently calibrated”.  Hence, that’s where their name came from.

Safest pressure gauge in the industry  The cross sectional area of the helical bourdon tube is approximately 1/100th the size of traditional “C” type bourdon tubes. In the event of a catastrophic failure of the helical bourdon tube, the small cross section of the bourdon and capillary tubes guarantee a low flow rate.

Over Pressure & Vacuum Protection  Perma-Cal can withstand over-pressures to 150% of full-scale and a complete vacuum without degradation.  Most competitors offer over pressure up to 130% of full scale with no vacuum protection.
